2025 Barry Rule Award
Congratulations Serdar “Skip” Devrimol on winning our 2025 Barry Rule Award!
Skip is a respected leader and proud ASU member.
As workplace delegate, he played a pivotal role in winning the recent Sydney and NSW Trains Enterprise Agreement, contributing to the Log of Claims, attending every bargaining meeting, and guiding the Combined Rail Unions through over 20 conciliation sessions.
Skip tirelessly engaged members, explained strategies, and ensured all had a voice and vote.
He championed safety reforms, career paths, and fair pay, and continues to oversee implementation of the Agreement.
Skip exemplifies ASU values and is a worthy Barry Rule Award recipient

Airlines Sector
ASU members have been bargaining across Qantas, Menzies and dnata, fighting for higher pay rises, rosters that centre work-life balance, union safe workplaces, and gender equity across the industry.
Just before Christmas, members at Qantas voted to secure a new Enterprise Agreement which will provide workers with back pay from July, pay rises and job security protections.
Our Airlines Division is working on key industry issues like the expected 2026 opening of Western Sydney International and what this will mean for workers across Airlines. With bargaining ongoing at Menzies and dnata, ASU members are keeping up momentum to improve pay and conditions in 2026.
When we stand our ground together in union, the sky is the limit.
